Cheap Phone Satellite
Is A Cheap Phone Satellite Better Than A Cellular Phone ?
There are many things that are different between a cellular phone and a satellite phone including price and the way they work. So is a cheap phone satellite better than a cellular phone ? Let’s have a look at the differences.
Differences in Functionality
Cellular phones use towers or stations which are referred to as cells, which receive and send the signal. As a user moves from one area to another the signal is handed off to the next cell in the sequence. If there is no cell the call gets dropped. Generally the connection is continuous because you sign up to a network that has made an agreement with other networks to be able to hand you off.
On the other satellite phones do not use cell towers instead relying on low satellites that orbit the earth usually referred to as LEO satellites. These satellites receive and send signals to the satellite phone passing it over to a gateway which routes the call. All calls made with a satellite phone go through a satellite.
Area Coverage Differences
Cell phones provide a network that provides coverage that is very dense especially in areas that are heavily populated. In order for a network provider to add more towers it must have many subscribers which and that is why you find little or zero cell coverage in areas that have a lower population or in remote areas.
That’s where satellite phones are so different. They don’t care how many people are in an area because the satellites are in fact designed to provide global coverage which means they work equally as well in a remote area or a city. Actually in a city your coverage may be more sporadic because you must have a clear shot to the sky line which can be more difficult within a city with tall buildings.
Differences
If you ask anyone most will agree that cell phones have becomes as necessary as having a landline. In fact in some cases they’ve even replaced the landline. For CEOs, manages, sales executives, marketing staff, student, mom, and a host of other people value the service, and they are also excellent in an emergency. Any metropolis or developed area and your cell phone will keep you in communication but and here’s the but – if you are someplace where there aren’t a lot of people then there’s a good chance that your cell phone isn’t going to do you any good.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s where satellite phones come in hand. They are perfect in areas that are sparsely populated and in remote areas. They are the perfect choice for areas where cellular is not. They are also very hand in an emergency when cellular service might be interrupted such as with a hurricane or earthquake.
Of course cellular phones are a lot cheaper but you can find a cheap phone satellite out there too. Cellular providers offer a variety of plans and so do satellite carriers. You can expect to pay about $1.50 per minute but you can talk anywhere in the world anytime and there are no such thing as roaming charges.
So if you take your time and shop around for a cheap phone satellite you will be surprised at just what you can find.
